Merry Christmas to my readers!
I hope today brings joy to your heart.
Whether you are experiencing trials that never seem to end, are alone for the holiday with no family or friends surrounding you, or have just suffered a loss, I pray you will seek the LORD while He may be found. For only in Christ will we have peace through suffering, and hope of eternal life. HE is the light of the world!
Last Sunday at our church, one of our young women sang a solo accompanied by the organ. I had never heard this French Carol before. It was so beautiful! The words are below and I have included a link to a Youtube recording so you can hear how it goes if you are not familiar with this song. This particular recording is sung by Steve Green.
Please take a couple minutes in your day today to listen. If Christmas means nothing to you or your situation feels so grim that it's hard to even smile, and you need someone to chat with, please feel free to contact me. I'd love to communicate with you.
Here are the lyrics for the French Carol - "Thou Who Wast Rich Beyond All Splendor"
1. Thou who wast rich beyond all splendor, All for love's sake becamest poor; Thrones for a manger didst surrender, Sapphire-paved courts for stable floor. Thou who wast rich beyond all splendor, All for love's sake becomes poor.
2. Thou who art God beyond all praising, All for love's sake becamest man; Stooping so low, but the lost raising Heavenwards by thine eternal plan. Thou who art God beyond all praising, All for love's sake becamest man.
3. Thou who art love beyond all telling, Saviour and King, we worship thee. Emmanuel, within us dwelling, Make us what thou wouldst have us be. Thou who art love beyond all telling, Saviour and King, we worship thee.
Acts 4:12 And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among mankind by which we must be saved.
