SUNDAY SNIPPET - How to Rest in God

Do you possess a strong and steady spirit? Or does life easily knock you about? I confess my spirit can drop quickly at times. The everyday family idiosyncrasies, health and employment issues can thwart me, wreak havoc with my emotional state – often. All those things I take to the LORD in prayer – daily.

When I think of my particular circumstances, I wonder – and, yes, there is some worry there – on how everything will work out as I grow older.

The LORD is my keeper. He is my shepherd. He is always compassionate. He will provide what I need. Scripture specifically commands us not to worry, but it’s natural to do so, isn’t it?

These days of uncertainty, unrest, the unknown that we are all facing right now, I find peace and safety with God. HE is the One who is in control of circumstances – good or bad – throughout the world – and in my life, too. I must believe that or I will suffer panic. I must believe in His almighty power and sovereignty – His omniscience and omnipresence.

The LORD moves people to do His work – for His purpose – for His glory.

Though my thoughts can go awry at times, I do know my life is in His hands – here on earth – and in eternity. That’s how I go about my everyday existence.

What about you? Have you put your trust and faith in Christ? You, too, can find rest in a world that is in upheaval. Your life can be in His hands. Want to know how? Drop me a line. I’d love to chat with you!

The LORD’s lovingkindnesses indeed never cease; For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23
